View Virtual Classroom Reports

Overview

The Virtual Classroom tool on Blackboard provides a convenient attendance report for each session. This feature records all attendees who have logged into a virtual classroom session, resulting in a more accurate count than manually checking attendees one by one. The virtual classroom attendance report is an exceptional tool with regards to seeing which attendees were logged into each virtual classroom session. Additionally, the report tool provides information about the start time, end time, and duration of the session.

It should be noted that the attendance report is only available after the session has ended. Additionally, the session does not have to be recorded to be able to use this tool.

Application Sharing Issues

Application sharing is one of the many key features of the Virtual Classroom (Blackboard Collaborate Ultra) that allows attendees to view your application and/or screen. Therefore, ensuring that this feature is working properly is essential. The most common application sharing issue is receiving a notification that "Application sharing is starting", but the screen does not actually start sharing. To solve this issue, please follow the information for each respective browser below.

Note: When sharing application/screen, if the “Share” button is grey, please make sure to select an image in the prompt first then select share.

Sharing Issues in Google Chrome Browser

If you receive a message that "Application sharing is starting", but the screen does not actually start sharing:

  • Stop and restart application sharing
  • Ensure that you are using the latest version of Chrome:
1.) Click on the "Menu Icon" located in the upper-right corner of your Chrome Browser.
2.) Click "Help" from the Menu-list.
3.) Click "About Google Chrome".
4.) Click "Relaunch" to apply the new update. Important: If you can’t find this button, you're on the latest version.
