How to Embed H5P Content in Blackboard Course Shell

H5P is a free and open-source content collaboration framework based on JavaScript. H5P is an abbreviation for HTML5 Package, and aims to make it easy for everyone to create, share and reuse interactive HTML5 content. H5P is an excellent platform to create content for evaluation and embed it into your Blackboard course. Some of the content provided includes multiple choice, course presentations, fill in the blanks, and much more. H5P is a highly encouraged platform for instructors to create content and simply add it to their Blackboard course site.

Steps to Embed H5P Content

Below are a simple set of steps to guide you through adding H5P content into a Blackboard course shell:

1.) Select H5P eCampus Homepage or in your browser search bar, type in "". Create an account or login to a previous made account.
2.) Select the tab that reads "Create".
3.) Scroll down to select the type of interactive content you would like to create. Once you have decided, select "Details" next to the content type you have selected. Next select "Use" to start configuring your H5P content.
4.) Enter the "Task Description" in it's corresponding box. In the "Title" field, enter the name of the content you are creating. Next in the "Question" field, enter the Multiple Choice question. Now fill in the different answers for the user to select. If another answer is needed, select "Add Option". When finished customizing your content, at the top of your page select "Save".
5.) Now you should be able to see your content on the web page. Select the "Embed" icon near the bottom of the content. Copy the link that the "Embed" icon provides, as this will be what is used to add the content to your course platform.
6.) Navigate to the area of your course that you would like to add the H5P content. Select "Build Content" and select a type that has an HTML editor built in to its text field. For this example, select "Build Content > Create > Item". In the text editor, select the "HTML Code View" icon. Next copy and paste your H5P embedded code into the editor from the content you created.
7.) Select "Update" and then select "Submit" at the bottom right of your page. Finally, test the webpage to ensure the content you created works successfully.
