Overview

The University of Windsor holds several types of workshops for users to learn how to use various components of Blackboard. In order to practice various skills, you may need to have some materials to upload to your sandbox site. This will be the location for those materials to be stored to improve access to needed workshop materials.

Sample Course Files

Instructors typically send files to their students or post content for enhanced learning. Below are some typical types of files an instructor might use including a .pdf, .ppt, .docx.

PDF for Import

This PDF file contains information about the overview of Blackboard features geared to an orientation workshop about Blackboard. It is to be symbolic of a .pdf file that an instructor might upload to a course site for student review.
  • To save this file locally, click on this Getting Started Activity Guide PDF link and you will be taken to a file location to download to your system depending on the browser settings you have on your computer. The easiest access for these files is to save to your desktop for easier retrieval. If you have clicked the file for download, and it doesn't give you an option as to where to save it, check your download folder first as a lot of browsers use that as a default location.

PPT for Import

This PowerPoint file is a default Blackboard training file containing an overview of using Blackboard. It will help supplement your learning at the current workshop and you can refer to it in the future.

MS Word File for Import or to Work through for Upload

This MS Word file is a sample template exercise that you can use to practice as a student or as an instructor who provides a template for students. It features Hands-on Practice for using Blackboard and a few fill-in-the-blank sections.
  • To save this file locally, click on this Getting Started Activity Guide Original.docx link and you will be taken to a location where the file can be downloaded to your system depending on the browser settings you have on your computer. The easiest access for these files is to save to your desktop for easier retrieval. If you have clicked the file for download, and it doesn't give you an option as to where to save it, check your download folder first as a lot of browsers use that as a default location.
